Ile d'Orélon

I cannot wait to lie down on the beach of Ile d'Orélon soon! I have finally decided to go there, I need the sun and the sea (I haven't swum in the sea for quite a while actually), although I'm going to spend a few days in Paris to see friends too.
When you decide to go to the beach, what you've got to do is a bikini hunt!!Actually, not a bikini, I prefer a tankini. With my cousin, I went shopping the other day to buy some real summer/beach clothes for Ile d'Orélon and Italy in September (and a bikini, of course!) I was taken by this very short white flared skirt though, even before buying the bikini. I kind of like the idea of wearing a tankini with this skirt at the beach. I was shopping with my cousin who was giving me a lecture about which one I should buy and which one I shouldn't. According to her, the clothes I picked weren'tt sexy enough. I think I hardly look sexy, but anyway I followed her advice and bought some clothes which are supposed to look sexy on me . Well, let's see how these "sexy" clothes will work in the island and Toscany this summer ;) (a photo of one of my new "sexy" tops below!)

Last time I visited Ile d'Orélon, most of people were topless at the beach. I remembrer that I was too shy to be topless, but I told them I'd be topless if it's the nude beach we're going when everybody decided to go there. I don't know if it was lucky or not, but (say luckily ) it rained and we didn't go. I managed to avoid being topless at the time, and I do hope I can avoid that this time too!!xxx

I went to Nini's gig on Wednesday (the 21st June) with friends. She used to play in a band, she said, but now she's on her own. She and Cay played in a small church called, St Bride's Church, in Catherine Street, which was build in 1830. It doesn't look like an traditional church at all. It's easily missed from the street. But it looks more like a mini Greek temple. The inside is very simple, but a pipe organ in this church is a very unique one. It really is a beautiful organ. It looks as if it's made of some kind of red clay and has painted patterns on. It's a shame I cannot show you a photo of the organ (I don't know why, but I'm having a difficulty getting photos up. It seems it's something to do with my Firewall settings).
I liked all of her songs, which are her original. I don't know what kind of music genres her music is, but she sings with an acoustic guiter and Cay harmonises with her sometimes with a flute. In all her songs, there is something sad and melancholic in music but at the same time something happy too. I liked the last song she sung (I forgot the name...) and another song called 'AIRPORT' the best. 'Airport' was a sad song but I liked the lyrics. It was raining before the gig and we were feeling a bit down, but we all felt so refreshed and relaxed when we left the church after the gig. It was a very pleasant experience to listen to friends's singing in a place like a church.

In Love Again

In Love Again is one of my favourite perfumes (from Yves Saint Laurent) of 2005. Not only the name but a heart-shaped bottle caught my eye, but the smell! It's divine, well, at least to me. Is it possible that the smell like this actually exists? ;) It's sweet, but not too sweet, and smells like musk and sandalwood together with a hint of white peach and candy floss. In Love Again smells everything I like, but unfortunately it just disappeared from Duty free shops at airports and from department stores...... I don't know if it was in a market only for a limited period, but it seems to be discontinued, as In Love Again -exotic (could be 'passion' or something) version-, which smells completely different, is on a market now. The one I'd been using was finished just on the last day of my stay in Paris (was this actually some kind of a sign???), and so I want to buy a new one, a new In Love Again ;) Mon amies or anybody, if you happen to see or find one somewhere, pleeeease let me know !! Thank youuuu xxx

Picnic in the house?

After having spent a great time at Africa Oye in Sefton park on Saturday, we decided to come back to the second day of the festival, but this time bringing our own picnic! Marge was going to bring organic roast chiken, Cath bringing potato salad, and me bringing Onigiri and Japanese food (and Shaz bringing more food). Well, anyway this was our plan on the basis of presumption of 'ONLY IF the weather was as beautiful as Saturday'. Of course, it rained ! Nobody could imagine that it was going to rain today, even the weather forcast! The sky was so blue and it was very sunny when I woke up in the morning, but ......... Anyway, despite of the rain, we stil felt like doing picnic, so we brought everything to Marge's house, and we did sort of picnic in the house. With beautiful red wine from Argentina and Cuban music, we were in good spirits !! Such a great and relaxing way to spend one Sunday evening!! xxx
xxx

Africa Oye

I went to Africa Oye (http://www.africaoye.com/) in Sefton Park, which is is one of the biggest African music festival in Liverpool (and maybe in the UK as well) on Saturday the 17th Jun. I met up with Cath first and joined the others later. Perfect day for the festival. Really a beautiful weather (but very hot). Loads of people were already there, on picnic; some were just lying on grass, some were dancing. The atompsophere was great; very friendly, people with mixed race, good music, and stalls for African and Carribian food, artcrafts, books and CDs.
The bands who played on the 17th were Cabruera from N.E. Brazil, Eyuphuro from Mozambique, Nuru Kane from Senegal, Bonga from Angola and Luciano from Jamaica. I really liked Bonga (He fled to Paris and to Lisbon from Angola because of the liberation. His music was like semba). Sounded like Brazilian music. (The Africa Channel will tape the festival for later broadcast (http://www.theafricachannel.com)).
Good music and sun in the beautiful park, what we needed was beer, but there were no stalls selling alcohol.... There was Marge, our saviour arrived with chilled beer!! You're ace, Marge. xxx

England VS Trinidad

a0072144_8104259.jpgI wanted to take my cousins to a pub last night, to get them experience sort of the atomosphere when the football match was on because they're in Liverpool! , so we went down to a pub called Fly In The Loaf (this sounds awaful, doesn't it?) in Hardman Street to meet up with friends. Didi was already there with his friends when we arrived, but my cousins felt so intimidated and scared by a crowd of people in the pub that they couldn't go inside first!! It's definitely strange but special atmosphere in a pub when the World Cup is on, especially when the match becomes heated. My cousisn started to film inside of the pub with her mobile, because she thought that a video could convey the entire atomosphere better than photos. It was a great moment to share, with all these people in the pub when England finally scored, twice !!!! Great goal from Steven Gerald! xxx

Scuba Diving

So disappointed to find out that a new Scuba Diving lesson doesn't start till the end of October... I really wanted to start now when the weather is good. It seems there aren't many diving courses here.. Maybe I should just go to Sinai or a small island in Carribian or Mediterranean Sea for a week to get a diving license Anyway, I've decided to join some drop-in classes in the sports centre. 4 choices: Boxercise, Salsa, Pilates or Ace Abs 'N' Body (which is body tonigh class, with emphasis on the waistline and a flat abdominal area)! Maybe I should try firs, Bocxercise and Ace Abs 'N' Body to reduce flabby bits before even wearing swim wear ! xxx

My cousin

While I was still in Paris, I got e-mail from one of my cousins. She said that she'd already bought a plane ticket to come to UK to visit me! Of course she's always more than welcome to stay at my place as long as she wants and I was looking forward to having her around, but to be honest I was a little nervous, as I only met her once in my whole life . But it turned out to be so fun to have her and her mum around!! And on top of that, they brought me loads of Japanese food !! I cannot believe we have so much in common and so many things to talk about, like friends, boyfriends, food, school, life, girls stuff, eco-things, films, travel, etc, etc, etc! I'll surely miss her mum when she leaves this weekend. Keep in touch, Akikosan. xxx

We've been having such a beautiful weather in Liverpool since the day I came back from Paris (a friend of mine told me that it'd been raining while I was in Paris. I must have brought the sun! ) With the sun and the crystal-clear blue sky, what you want to have is a BBQ in a garden or a park! So I went to my friend's, Shaz and Mick's house to have a BBQ with their friends from work and from NY on Sunday. Caprioska (I can't remember exactly how it's called, but who cares what it's called!) with tones of fresh limes and Vodka, which Shaz made, was absolutely smashing! Sun, drink, good music and good friends; Whatelse do you need more? Thank you, Shaz and Mick! xxx
