World Cup Final

My Italian friend visitied me from South of Wales over the weekend, and after having gone to a Jazz Festival at Southport, we went to watch a final of the World Cup last Sunday, although I'm not a big fan of football. I was going to support France, only because I wanted Zidane to win and also because Argentina (my support of this World Cup!) was already out.... My friend didn't know who to support first. She's Italian, so she should support Italy, but she likes Zidane and personally wanted him to win (I believe almost everybody wanted France to win for him), but at the end of the day she was Italian, she started to support Italy (of course!) ;) There were bunches of people in front of us who were supporting Italy, which was a bit unlucky for me.
It was a quite good match, I think, but I thought that that referee was definitely in favour of Italy!!! (Well, next day I watched BBC news, and they said that 4 Italian football clubs were now under investigation for bribing to choose referees who were in favour of Italy! Would be disgraceful if it's all true.) But but but, the most upsetting thing was that Zidane was red-carded and out of the match!! I just could not believe my eyes what had happened and what he did... I was so disappointed at watching him leave the match like that. He'd been a great footballer for long (well, I don't know much about football, but everybody says so) and should have deserved to stay in the match and to win...... French supporters must have been devastated. Again, it was reported on TV here next day that there was a possiblity that the Italian defender made a racist comment on him. People may think an experienced player like Zidane could or should have handled it a little better, but a thing like this (a racist comment) can cut into the deepest part of your emotions, I believe. I'm not trying to justify his action but I think everybody has this little "button", something in your heart which not to be provoked, and sometimes people have more to protect than fame, I believe. xxx
    気を取りなおしてメキシコ料理を食べにいったら、レストランが閉まってるし、なんだか悲しく終わった日曜日でした(笑)。 xxx
